The Celeritas Tragelaphus Strepsiceros would evolve from the Kudu as a result of need for food as a more extreme climate decreases the smount of food that can be found. The evolution would also come about as a need to escape predators in the open feilds of southern and eastern africa.
Habitat:
The blue represent the area where the Celeritas Tragelaphus Strepsiceros will be found
The habitat of the Celeritas Tragelaphus Strepsiceros will become much the same as the Zebra, specificly the plains Zebra as the vastly increased speed of the Celeritas Tragelaphus Strepsiceros will mean that it is able to prey upon them. Of course, the Zebra is also preyed upon by others such as lions which in turn prey on the Celeritas Tragelaphus Strepsiceros.
Structural adaptions:
1. The legs of the Kudu would shrink in size and grow in strength as the enhanced speed will allow them to outrun their predators in open areas which they previously avoided.
2. The Kudu will develope the teeth typical of a carnivore (inccisors, cannines etc.) so as to prey on smaller animals as an alternitave food source as plant food shrinks evan more dramticly in the dryer periods of the year due to rising temperature and drought.
Behavorial adaptions:
1. The male Kudu's will become more territorial as they no longer must grpoup together at food souces in hotter year periods as they can now hunt other animals for sustenance.
2. The modern day Kudu had a sometime fatal reflex that has been removed through evolusion. The reflex caused the Kudu to turn and stare at the disturbance which would prove fatal as it allowed the predator a few seconds inwhich the Kudu was immobile to strike. Quite the opposite of this reaction the Celeritas Tragelaphus Strepsiceros would run at the first sign of a predator that it couldnt handle.
Physiological adaptions:
1. The Celeritas Tragelaphus Strepsiceros will have a greater stamina than the Kudu as it is needed to continue high speeds when chasing smaller prey for food or runnning away from larger/more dangerous predators. The previous Kudu's stamina was small which is one of the reasons it was confined to a more bush/scrub land where it can easily hop thorugh the area.
